HBH Woolacotts, the South West's leading independent electrical retailer, has just unveiled its largest shop to date, and it's a game-changer. Imagine a space so vast, it's transformed a former pottery site into a sprawling emporium of tech and appliances.
This exciting development marks the grand opening of the Barnstaple branch, located at the old Brannams Pottery site in Roundswell. The grand opening was a huge success, drawing in enthusiastic crowds eager to explore the new store.
HBH Woolacotts first entered the North Devon market back in 2015, acquiring Bernard Smiths, a well-known retailer on Barnstaple High Street. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the company. Chris Hemmerle, a director at HBH Woolacotts, shared his excitement: "We're absolutely delighted to unveil our new superstore after 18 months of hard work." He also highlighted the company's commitment to the North Devon area, stating that they had been searching for the perfect location for about five years. The chance to develop such a historic site was too good to pass up.
"As our business grows in the area we needed a site that would allow us to continue to offer customers a huge range of products and an industry-leading delivery and installation service," Hemmerle added.
And this is the part most people miss... the new store is roughly fifteen times bigger than its previous location! Plus, a brand-new delivery hub has been set up to better serve customers in Barnstaple and the surrounding areas.
But here's where it gets controversial... The new shop boasts an extensive showroom. From televisions and home cinema systems to kitchen appliances, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners, the store has it all. It even includes a dedicated kitchen retail section, Haven Kitchens by HBH Woolacotts. The company currently operates nine stores across Devon and Cornwall, and they're known for prioritizing excellent customer service while keeping prices competitive with both online and national retailers.
