Trainers from across South and Central America took part in an intensive heavy vehicle driving course, with a focus on road safety and sustainability. The training, held in Argentina, was a collaborative effort between FIA Region IV (South and Central America), the Professional Transport Foundation (FPT), and FADEEAC. The goal was to enhance the skills of instructors in freight transport, ensuring safer and more efficient practices across the region.
The course, conducted at the Rogelio Cavalieri Iribarne Professional Training Center, offered a comprehensive learning experience. Participants were equipped with tools to assess and train essential driving skills, including attention, anticipation, coordination, reaction, and fatigue management. This hands-on approach combined theoretical modules, driving simulators, and practical maneuvers in controlled environments.
Beyond technical training, the event fostered regional collaboration. Representatives from various clubs shared insights and challenges, contributing to a shared vision of safer, more sustainable mobility in Latin America. The participating clubs included the Touring y Automóvil Club Paraguayo, Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA), Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC), Automóvil Club del Uruguay, Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú, Automóvil Club Boliviano, and Automóvil Club de Costa Rica.
The event highlighted the importance of joint efforts in road safety. Ricardo Morales Rubio, FIA Region IV President, emphasized the significance of collaboration among FIA Clubs in strengthening road safety and professional training in freight transport. Sergio Ruppel, President of the Professional Transport Foundation (FPT), added that hosting this training session is crucial for learning from neighboring countries' challenges, fostering growth, and contributing to road safety across South America. This partnership with FPT, a regional leader in sustainable freight transport, reinforces FIA Region IV's commitment to professional training and safer mobility.
